Yet the "Samples" subfolder only contains ~ 21GB of files which is about what I downloaded in the first place and I don't see any other files in the folder that would account for any decompressed additional material.

By moving these RAR files, you've regained space on your hard dive and created a backup at the same time. However, it's usually prudent to copy these RAR files onto an external disk, USB thumbdrive or similar as a backup, then delete the RAR files from your computer.

Clicking the activate button will open the service center inside Kontakt, and allow you to paste in your serial number and activate the product. You should now get an option to activate the library via the service center. Navigate to your Cinematic Strings installation directory and click "Add". A window will pop up and ask you to select a folder that contains a Kontakt Player compatible library. Once you've succesfully downloaded the library, you can open Kontakt in either standalone or plugin mode, navigate to the 'library' tab and then choose "Add To Library". You may wish to leave this going overnight. The download itself is around 20gb, so it will take a while, even on fast internet connections. Choose a suitable location, with at least 40Gb free space to ensure succesful download and installation. A window will pop up and ask you where on your computer you'd like to save the sample library files.

Once you've unzipped the installer file and run the application, click the 'paste' button to automatically paste the 16 digit serial code into the download code box, and click the "Download" button. This serial number is also used to activate the download, so just copy (press Cmd+C on Mac, or Ctrl+C on Windows) to copy the serial number to your computer's clipboard, then download the installer app linked.

If it didn't install I would us UnRarX to unarchive the files. Are you sure there isn't a Cinematic Strings Folder already on your drive somewhere? You'll still have the RAR files that you can use for backup. I don't like to ask for help if I can help myself but was disappointed that there were NO install or help instructions in the download and none in the Cinestrings website FAQ or Support areas.īy this instruction on their website it seems as the though the installer should download and unarchive the files.
Then what ? I go into Kontakt and do what ? (I have installed other libraries in Kontakt but its been a long time.). rar files into one folder labeled CS2 or whatever (any recommended rar decompression utility ?). But its silent on advice re decompressing, whether to store everything decompressed into one folder, etc., etc. The online install instructions just say to go to Kontakt and install as with any other library. I finished the download and have a huge number of compressed. Lord only knows how long it would take tech support to get back and I'm chompin' at the bit with a new toy. Am now the proud owner of CS 2 but hopefully one of you owners can help me with the install.
